calling then The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) is where
your journey begins.
The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) was formed at Pune on
01 May 1948 by merging together the Army Medical Training Centre,
the Army School of Hygiene, the Central Military Pathology Laboratory,
the School of Blood Transfusion and Army School of Radiology.
The main rationale in starting AFMC was to provide comprehensive
medical and para medical education to the students and guarantying
a holistic development of theoretical and practical skills was.
The aim was to prepare compassionate human beings, caring and
courteous medical professionals, who will be responsible and
socially conscious citizens and exemplary leaders for the Armed
Forces.
AFMC is widely acknowledged as a premier national institute
of the country. The college is fully residential and residence
in the hostel is compulsory for all students with service liability.
