The AIEEE League Challenge!!
Today’s AIEEE 2010 just saw another link secured, in the long chain of entrance exams, for the aspiring undergraduate. Concluding on a momentous note this exam of high proportions has raised the hopes of students to pursue an engineering degree from reputed colleges across the country.
An easy enough paper and after successive stints over the years the All India Engineering Entrance Examination has come into a league of its own!
This exam is conducted by the CBSE to gain admission to the much in demand and prestigious National Institutes of Technology across the country. The fate of many students seeking an Engineering, Technical, Pharmacy or Architectural degree at an all India level is dependent on the scores achieved in this exam.
HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS
- The change in marking remained as it was last year which was a welcome break to many students.
- Not only textual matter but conceptual clarity along with reasoning ability would have helped the student to score equally in all sections.
- Though the paper was an objective type paper and maintaining speed would have been easy but accuracy was the need of the hour.
- The twist in the mathematics section was the dual combo of Reasoning and Logic. Both together formed the base for most of the problems thus raising the degree of difficulty
- The catalysts in the Chemistry section were problems based on Organic Chemistry causing reactions of high expectations as far as scores were concerned.
- Questions on mechanics, thermodynamics or even sound and light did not any way hinder the progress of the students in the Physics Section. They were as straightforward as ever and by far the easier, in comparison to the previous AIEEE entrances.
- The nemesis for many was the negative marking lurking in the background
- The paper pattern was based on the NCERT syllabus for Std. XI & XII.
A technical approach was the flavor of this paper.
Keeping the Mathematics section as the appetizer and then following it up with the Physics Section would have added flavor to an already tangy paper.
The Chemistry section was the icing on the cake and hence finishing off the main paper with this would have been a wise choice in terms of maintaining a smooth flow of thoughts.
Finally, as differential marking did cause a few hiccups so attempting those questions which carried more marks was the next smart move in furthering your scores to the desired level.
