Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)
The CLAT-2010 is being conducted by National Law Institute University,
Bhopal. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2010 will be conducted
for admission to the undergraduate programme for eleven National
Law Universities and also for the post graduate programme (LL.M)
for admission to NLSIU, NALSAR, NLIU, WBNUJS, HNLU, GNLU, RMLNLU,
CNLU and RGNUL. The details of intake, reservation, courses
offered along with the fee structure and further details can
be had from the website of concerned University.

Under-graduate programmes
Eligibility :
To be eligible for taking CLAT-2010, a candidate should have
passed Higher Secondary School/Intermediate Examination (10+2)
or its equivalent examination with not less than 50% marks in
aggregate (45% in case of SC/ST/OBC* and persons with Disability*).
Age of candidate should not be more than 20 years in case of
General/OBC candidates and 22 years in case of SC/ST* and persons
with Disability* on 1st July, 2010. *Subject
to state reservation at the University concerned.
Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination are eligible
to apply for the Test. But candidate must have passed the qualifying
examination at the time of his/her admission.
Application Procedure
Application forms, along with the CLAT-2010 Information Brochure
are available at designated branches (refer
www.clat.ac.in) of the Indian Bank, the State Bank of India
or in any of the participating law schools
against payment of Rs. 2500 only (inclusive of test fee and
bank charges).
Duly filled application forms should be submitted to The Registrar,
the National Law Institute University, Kerwa
Dam Road, Bhopal- 462 044 (M.P), either in person or through
registered post and the Registrar must receive
it latest by April 2, 2010.
The candidates who have downloaded the application form from
the CLAT-2010 website must manually fill- in
the application form and submit the same in hard copy only.
The candidate must attach with the application
form the cash receipt of Rs.2500/- or Rs. 2000/- as the case
may be which he/she has paid to the bank or
the institution from where he/she has purchased the form.
Those candidates who submit the application form downloaded
from CLAT-2010 website must attach with the
application form a demand draft of Rs. 2000/- or Rs. 2500/-
as the case may be, drawn in favour of The
Convenor, CLAT-2010, payable at Bhopal.

Total Marks : 200
Total number of questions : 200
Duration of examinations : Two Hours
Subject areas with weightage
English including Comprehension : 40 Marks
General Knowledge/ Current Affairs : 50 Marks
Elementary Mathematics(Numerical ability) : 20 Marks
Legal Aptitude/Legal Awareness : 45 Marks
Logical Reasoning : 45 Marks

1. (1) What is the need of domicile certificate? Or
Why Domicile certificate is required?
The domicile certificate would be required to claim an admission
under the domicile reservation of NLIU,
Bhopal, HNLU, Raipur, GNLU, Gandhinagar, RMLNLU, Lucknow, RGNLU,
Patiala, NUALS, Kochi. 2. How can we get application
form number and bar code number in application downloaded
from internet?
Or
Where can I find the application number and
bar code number in the form downloaded from
the internet?
There is no need to fill application number and bar code number
in the application. This is just for your
information sake only. 3. Please let me know
the format of NRI certificate?
Thank you for showing interest in CLAT-10. For NRI either of
the parents or both or candidate himself/herself
should have valid passport of their respective country. Universities
/ Law Schools at Bhopal, Raipur and Kolkata
are the only universities / law schools under CLAT 2010 who
facilitate admissions to NRI. Different universities
/ law schools might have different format of certificate required.
The details of NRI admission is available on the
website of the respective universities / law schools and for
additional information on the same, you will need
to contact these universities / law schools directly.
4. Why do we need to fill in certain sections by pencil?
Some sections in the application have to be filled in pencil,
in order to avoid errors and mistakes that might
happen while filling the form. We have instructed the same so
that you are sure that the information that
we have received is accurate. 5. Where can
I get the application form in my city?

across India. The applications are also available on the internet

. 6. What is the application fee for the candidates
applying at UG level?
The application fee for the candidates applying at UG level
is: For General and OBC category candidates it
is Rs 2500/- For ST and SC candidates it is Rs 2000/- . The
application fee is same at both UG and PG level

age limit to apply for UG level examination?
Yes sir/madam, there is a age limit to apply for the CLAT 2010
examination.
Candidate should not be more than 20 years of age in case of
general and OBC category as on 1 July 2010.
Candidate should not be more than 22 years of age in case of
SC/ST and disability (#) as on 1 July 2010.
(#) Subject to state reservation at the University concerned.
8. I need the question paper of the previous year
CLAT examination. Please send me the details
to where I should send the money.

Can I get the papers of previous years CLAT
examination for undergraduates, if yes what is
the cost and to whom I have to correspond?
In order to get the previous year question paper, you will have
to make a demand draft of Rs 100/- drawn in
