AIPMT 2010 : Exam Analysis
PHYSICS:
Physics section was relatively easier compared to the trend. A couple of speed-breakers were there as usual. Overall the physics section was the average with almost the same weightage and composition of all the topics as per trend. This time to our surprise, optics exceptionally gained two more questions. Any aspirant is expected to attempt around 30 questions to clear the cut-off. Chances are there that this section might lead to a rise in cut-offs.
This section might prove a deciding factor for the results as the section was based on the very basics of the subject and many questions were exactly same and easily available from the online question banks and text-books.

CHEMISTRY:
Chemistry section was relatively tough compared to the trend. Number of application based tough questions, twisted numericals and a couple of speed-breakers may have caused inconvenience. This section also had the similar distributions in the number of questions as per weightage and trend. Organic chemistry kept a huge dominance in the paper.
Attempt of around 20+ questions will ease you to clear the cut-offs comfortably.

BIOLOGY:
Biology section was unexpectedly easy and hence could easily affect the cut-offs. Around 14 questions were application based and were not directly related to the concepts taught. Life processes (Zoology) dominated the questions chart. Overall, this section saw a drastic change in the weightage and dominance of different sections. Within each chapter the variety of questions were evenly distributed giving the students a fair chance to win the chance.
Attemptability of 60+ questions will help you clear the cut-off.

ALL INDIA PRE-MEDICAL / PRE-DENTAL ENTRANCE EXAMINATION Preliminary (AIPMT 2010) was overall a easier paper. One needs to focus on the basic concepts of every chapter to get through the cut-off.
Career Forum students would have found it quite a easy-going affair as around 80% of the sections were known to them.
The overall scores may rise higher to 350+ (as compared to 300 in 2009) to clear for the Mains exam to be held on 16th May 2010. AIPMT final may be a challenging exam this time as for the first time it is going to be an Objective exam with 200 questions from the fields of Physics, Chemistry & Biology.
Best of Luck for the AIPMT Mains!
