SUBJECT WISE DIFFICULTY ANALYSIS:
Paper I: PHYSICS and CHEMISTRY
Overall this first part of MHT-CET took a round on the mental ability of the students. The section was really time-consuming with many numerical questions.
- Physics
The Physics section of the paper was strong. There were many numerical questions, but not at all as shocking as last year. Maharashtra Board HSC syllabus was dominating the question level. Mechanics and Modern Physics questions were packed in with glimpses of Optics. Career Forum students found the paper really easy one because of their preparedness and training in the institute. Few questions were also common and seen ones.
It was a mix of theoretical and numerical paper, but can be standardized as ABOVE-AVERAGE in scoring. Attempts should be around 30+ for any average aspirant. This will be the deciding section for all medical aspirants.
- Chemistry
Chemistry section may be the easiest of all. As per the syllabus mentioned in the HSC curriculum, the section was dominated by Organic questions. The section was evenly distributed with all topics and was more focused on chemical reactions. This section was also populated with numerical type questions. Students from CBSE boards may not find the paper very friendly.
Overall, the chemistry section was EASY to AVERAGE and you should have attempted 40+ questions correctly section.
Paper II: BIOLOGY
Biology section of MHT-CET 2010 was another smooth part, if a student is aware of the basic biology concepts. Appreciably with more-or-less similar coverage to Bio I & II from the text-books, questions were slightly twisted or confusing from the later. State Board students would find a couple of topics very easy, like Biotechnology.
Biology section did not have any surprises and can be treated an EASY scoring paper. Scores might be soaring really high in this section with around 70+ chances of average attempts. Good students should have made it more than 90+.
Paper III: MATHEMATICS
Mathematics section was a relief to the engineering aspirants. Appreciably more coverage was there on Maths part I topics. Students found easy and seen with questions from Probability, Boolean algebra, Calculus and Vectors.
Scores in this section should be around 74+, with an average attempt of 36-38 questions. The section was AVERAGE in difficulty level.
