What is CMAT?
CMAT is a standard test to assess the general aptitude of candidates for admission to various Management Institutes in the country.
Calibre® Mindware Programming Pvt. Ltd. is only conducting the test and has nothing to do with the admission process of the different management schools, which accept its scores. Student who take CMAT do not automatically get considered for admission by the management schools that accept CMAT scores for their admission unless they apply to them.
Who is conducting the CMAT?
The test is conducted by Calibre® Mindware Programming Pvt. Ltd. which is established by talented professionals and is one of the fastest growing ERP solution providers for educational organizations, headquartered in Pune - the IT hub of India.

Who is eligible to take the test?
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 45% marks or equivalent CGPA [40% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Differently Abled (DA) categories], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/ institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor’s degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.
Is having an e-mail address mandatory?
Prospective candidates must maintain a valid email account throughout the selection process.
Is there any age restriction for appearing in CMAT?
No, there is no age restriction for appearing in CMAT.
What is the fee for the test?
The fee is Rs. 900/-
When will the CMAT 2010 advertisement appear in newspapers?
Advertisement for CMAT 2010 will appear on Sunday, December 14, 2009 in leading national or local newspapers.
When does the sale of Bulletin and forms start and end?
Sale of Bulletin and form starts on December 14, 2009 at all Career Forum branches and associated outlets. The sale ends on 6 February 2010.
Can the of Bulletin and forms be bought online?
Yes. The form can be bought online. On the Home page of this website, www.c-mat.com, you will find the link to online form sale. Payment online can be made by Credit Card.
From where can I get the list of test centres?
A list of test centres will be available on the website from December 14, 2009. The bulletin will also contain a list of the test centres.
When will I get my Admit Card?
Soon after you fill-in and submit your application form to Calibre® Mindware Programming Pvt. Ltd. along with all the relevant personal information, a confirmation email containing your unique SCANCODE will be sent to you.
The admit card will be sent to you by email at the email address provided by you after January 15, 2010.
You may also print your admit card online by entering your unique SCANCODE and date of birth.
What details will be mentioned in the Admit Card?
The admit card will contain the name of the candidate, test date, time, venue, SCANCODE and instructions for the candidate.
Will the Admit Card be sent to me as a hard copy?
The Admit card will be sent to you as an email on your email address, provided by you. It is therefore, mandatory for you to have a valid email account throughout the selection process.
The Admit card will not be sent to you as a hard copy either by courier/post. You are required to take a print out of the Admit Card to bring with you to the test centre.
Can I cancel the test?
No. Under no circumstances will a cancellation / refund be allowed.
If I do not take my test, will I be eligible for a refund?
No. Your fees will not be refunded in case you do not appear for your test as per your scheduled location, date and time.
What is the reporting time for the test?
30 minutes prior to the test time. If the test begins at 10 AM, you are advised to reach the test centre by 9.30 AM and no later than 9:45 AM.
What is the duration and pattern of the test?
The duration of the test is 2 hours. The actual test may contain about 100 questions.
What are the identification documents required to be carried to the test centre?
Candidate will need to bring their CMAT 2010 Admit Card, a valid document as proof of SC/ST eligibility (if applicable) and one photo-identification to the test centre. Acceptable forms of photo identification are Driver's license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, College ID, Employee identification card, or a notarized Affidavit with Photo, Signature, Date of Birth and Residential Address.
Candidates will not be permitted to take the test if photo identification and Admit Card is not presented.
Note: You will have to store all other personal items at the test centre at your own risk. Please do not bring any other items to the test centre, as they are not permitted into the testing centre.
Does the name need to match with the names appearing on the identification documents?
Your name needs to be exactly identical to the name on your school-leaving certificate.
Note: - If the name has been changed due to events such as marriage, you must show the relevant document mentioned below and submit a photocopy at the time of interview and at the time of joining a programme.

What are the permitted materials I can carry to the test centre?
None. You will not be permitted to carry any personal items to the test centre, including but not limited to wrist-watch, pen, cellphones, calculators, etc.
What are the different sections of CMAT?
CMAT consists of questions that evaluate a candidate’s quantitative, verbal, logical & data interpretive abilities and general knowledge. Therefore, there are a total of 4 sections.
Do I have any test breaks?
No, you will not be given any breaks during the test.
Will I be provided with any scratch paper for rough work and calculations during the test?
Scratch paper for rough work will be an extra sheet provided in the question paper. Rough work cannot be done on any other paper/sheet, as nothing will be allowed inside the testing room.

What is the validity of CMAT?
CMAT is valid for one year. How CMAT score is to be utilized in the selection process is left entirely to the institutes or management schools.
